Journey To Awaken Unity behind our Diversity
From the holiest sites of our world's great religions to images of ancient cultures, the artistic to the sacred, the beautiful to the heartbreaking.

"There is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all arguments and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance. That principle is contempt prior to investigation."

Thank you for taking the time to view my work and the possibility of working together in bringing a positive change to our world. The photography you see through out this website represents a small sampling of my work and what Journey To Awaken is about.
Traveling to many fascinating places my work is to share what I learn and experience from other cultures and their wisdom traditions. To develop multi dimensional art forms that help us take a unique and interesting look at our world through a broad range of topics...particularly the mystical dance between spirit, nature, culture and history.
It is not my purpose or intent to impose a religious or cultural belief upon anyone but rather to develop mediums that educate, inspire and motivate people to take a deeper and clearer look into the human condition, explore topics that offer us alternative ways of living through non-violence, compassion and wisdom and support concepts in which we can serve both world and spirit.
Most of these concepts I have tried to present through my audiovisual and educational programs. With Journey To Awaken being an on going body of work what I have tried present here is a small sampling of some of the subject matter from those formats.
Dharmatography... combines the words Dharma and Photography, a word I coined to better express the nature of my work. Dharma is a Sanskrit word used in eastern wisdom traditions. It is a complex and comprehensive term with many meanings and connotations. Dharma is that which upholds the cosmos. It includes phenomenon, nature, divine law, ethics, religion, duties, responsibilities, virtue, justice and truth. It is the right and righteous path that permeates the universe and all that exists.

Traveling is one of the greatest classrooms in the world, even within our own country and its short history. Compare ourselves to the ancientness of the rest of the world and our perspective can change dramatically. Traveling to foreign lands has touched my life deeply. The subtle effects are numerous and hard to reproduce in any setting; the smells, the food, the clothes, the language, the customs and spiritual traditions. Most of all the interaction with the people; their living standards, priorities and the incredible poverty/oppression that is still so prevalent in many parts of the world. It has humbled me beyond imagination!
Although it is hard to see these things it is even harder to turn away and pretend they don't exist. It has helped me to appreciate what I often take for granted and be willing to give back more freely in a variety of ways to those less fortunate. I hope in some way you feel this to be a rewarding and motivating experience in your life.
Joy and Blessings on your Journey.

Tibetan Sand Mandala's (Click on the Trinity link below to see video on the making of a sand mandala)
Over the years you may have had the opportunity to see and experience numerous sand mandalas throughout Sacramento at various locations such as the Crocker Art Museum, Sacramento Buddhist Church, Unitarian Universalist Church, Trinity Cathedral, Spiritual Life Center etc.
This sacred practice and art form have been hosted by myself and friends. We have also offered teachings on Tibetan Buddhism and look forward to presenting many more similar events in the future.
